PenFed advertises Complete Access Checking Account as an account with extra benefits you may not expect. You are able to deposit checks online with their Deposit Anywhere Home Deposit Service, an automatic $500 line of overdraft protection or no holds are placed on check deposits of $3,000 or less. The Warriors Advantage account is a new money-saving feature for members in the Active, Reserve and National Guard components of our uniformed services. With this account, it waives the fees on PenFed checking accounts in case of insufficient or uncollected funds and returned ACHs.
Savings accounts: PenFed is able to offer their Regular Share Savings Account, Money Market Savings Account and CDs as a way for their customers to securely save their money. The Regular Share Savings Account is a must have as this is how you will earn membership with PenFed. All it takes is a low $5 initial deposit and you can start earning exclusive benefits and rates. The Money Market Savings Account is for those who have larger balances and would like to see a larger return. The interest is tired, so there is more opportunity to earn larger with larger deposits.
Pentagon Federal Credit Union (PenFed) CD Rates
PenFed offers Money Market CDs that offer higher yields and a low minimum deposit of $1,000. The terms are varying; however, you can lock-in your rate for the term of the CD. The Money Market CDs are also under constant protection and backed by the National Credit Administration up to $250,000. Automatic renewal is a feature that is available to these CD accounts; otherwise you can call or write with other instructions. You can easily start saving for the future with these easy-to-main CD accounts.
Coverdell Education Savings CDs are also offered by PenFed for those who need to invest wisely for future educational expenses. It only takes $500 to open. PenFed also has their own Education Savings Account which can be opened with as little as $25. PenFed is able to offer their customers their Regular Share Savings account. The account is basis and simple. It takes an initial $5 deposit to open the account and acts as your membership fee. The Regular Share Savings account is designed for easy transfers, plus it earns interest from the day of your deposit to the day of withdrawal. The interest on the account is credited and compounded monthly.

Pentagon Federal Credit Union (PenFed) Money Market Rates
PenFed is able to bring to their customers the Pentagon Federal Credit Union Money Market Savings account (MMSA) to help them give a boost to their savings. Since the account is based off tiered interest rates, you will earn more with a larger balance. The account is also insured by the National Credit Union Administration up to $250,000. The MMSA doesn’t include regular service fees because PenFed wants your money to work for you. Also, there isn’t a minimum deposit or withdrawal amount or minimum balance penalty fees. You can open your account with a low $25 opening deposit if you would like. Plus, MMSA is easy to access and you’ll receive a free supply of checks with no minimum check-writing amount.
