Bank Overview
Hanmi Bank is a California based bank which opened their doors for the first time in 1982. Originally this bank was created to serve the underrepresented immigrant population in Koreatown. It is a Korean owned bank which has expanded the scope of their coverage to represent the financial needs of all Americans. They are a part of a network of branches that offer services including personal banking, lending, and investment.
They are dedicated to helping their members achieve their own “American dream”. They help to grow communities by providing lending and advising for small businesses which creates jobs and promotes financial wellness within communities. Small business resources available include real estate lending, equipment lending, and financial advising.
Hanmi has a dream scholarship program which provides financial contributions to the education of at-risk youth. This scholarship has a focus on youths in the foster care system or who come from homes with high rates of domestic violence. This scholarship program changes lives and is one of the many ways that Hanmi invests back in their communities. Students at all levels of education are free to apply with verification of school attendance.
They also have a social responsibility program which encourages bankers and bank employees to do volunteer work within the community. The program is a one of a kind initiative that focuses on youth, families, education, and community development.
